National Granola Day
In honor of National Granola Bar Day, January 21st, we decided to experiment with our Granola and try to create a scrumptious treat to devour for the special day.
In just a few steps you will have yourself a pan full of delicious Gluten-Free Granola bars without the hassle.
First what you will need:
3/4 bag of your favorite Flax4Life Granola (We picked Chunky Chocolate Chip)
1/2 cup of either Peanut Butter or Almond Butter (We used Almond)
1/4 cup Honey
Small amount of Coconut Oil to grease pan
1 mixing bowl
8x8 glass pan
1 ziplock bag
Step 1: Breaking up the Granola
Preheat Oven to 350 degrees.
You want to break up the large pieces of granola. Open your bag of Flax4Life Granola and empty 3/4 of the bag into your ziplock bag and pound it until you get evenly sized pieces.
Quick Tip: We used a rolling pin to smash and roll out the large chunks.
Step 2: Mixing the ingredients
Now, take your freshly broken down granola and mix it with the honey and almond or peanut butter.
Make sure to get a consistent coating of the granola.
Step 3: In the pan, you go
Grease your pan with a little coconut oil to help with sticking. Then empty your mixture into your 8x8 pan. Pat down it down until you get an even condensed spread. The goal is to bind everything together.
Step 4: The Waiting Game
Back for 10-15 minutes at 350 degrees. Then let the pan completely cool for a couple of hours.
Step 5: Yummy, Yummy
Enjoy your treat!!
